Why Finger Protector® in the workplace?

The U.K. Health & Safety Commission (Health, Safety and Welfare) regulations clearly state, with respect 1974 and 1992 legislation, "Doors and gates must be fitted with the necessary safety devices." This applies particularly to children!

If you run a factory, shop, school, hospital, nursing home, hotel, restaurant, etc. the above regulation applies directly to you and your workplace in protecting children and all those at risk.

Falure to eliminate risk can result in a £20,000 fine.

If the hinged area of a door isn't protected and a child (or indeed anyone) gets their finger trapped in a door, a court might rule the that you were negligent because a suitable, practicable safety device was available, but not fitted. Your insurance company, could use your negligence to leave you high and dry.

And NO business can afford to defend expensive litigation to say nothing of the bad publicity that would accompany such a high profile court case.
